whenever I start Yam on AmigaForever,it asks me for AmiTCP.Clicking the close gadget several times starts Yam and get the same problem when I download or send. This did not happen on an old install-had a total system crash and had to rebuild-so wondering what to do.Thanks.This is with both Yam 24patch 1 and the dev version

Sorry but I am not familiar with the internals of AmigaForever, but YAM requires a bsdsocket.library compatible TCP/IP stack for running properly. What is AmigaForever using, or do you need an extra Miami/AmitTCP like tcp/ip stack in addition to the standard AmigaForever package?

AmigaForever has a built in BSDsocket library emulation so does not need Miami or other stacks. Will talk to the WinUAE and AmigaForever mailing lists and see what I find there and let you know what i find out.

if this own internal TCP/IP stack is fully compatible to the well-known bsdsocket.library standard AmiTCP/Miami/Roadshow or any other Amiga TCP/IP stack is compatible as well, then YAM should work work without any problem or even notice.

There is no internal TCP/IP stack in WinUAE. The bsdsocket.library emulation (that ensures compatibility with the real bsdsocket.library) in WinUAE is, as far as I know, just a wrapper that sends all connection requests and data to Windows TCP/IP stack, and vice versa.
Experiments tell me that compatibility is very high (if not perfect): I never had problems with Amiga browsers, mailers, IRC programs, FTP programs, and so on.

I use YAM (with AmigaOS 3.9) in WinUAE (with Windows98 and WindowsXP) since years and never had this requester!
