Remove the "Read" button from the main window's toolbar
The "Read" button is 100% superflous. Either the embedded read pane is active and the current mail will be displayed immediately without further user interaction, or the user simply double clicks a mail to be displayed instead of clicking it once and then clicking the "Read" button.
From my point of view the "Read" button can be completely removed. It may have served a purpose in older days, but no longer today.
The same applies for the "Edit" button. First of all it is quite unintuitive to be able to edit a received mail from another person. Second with the changed philosophy of real draft mails it is again more intuitive to double click a draft mail to edit it again instead of having to do two separate clicks for the same purpose. Mails in the Outgoing folder are treated like received mails again and are not to be edited anymore. However, if editing a mail in the Outgoing folder is required nevertheless the user can still accomplish that by using the "Edit as new" menu item. Since this requires the additional step of using the menu the difference from editing a draft should become more obvious to the user.
